When the North Wind Doth Blow...

This morning we woke to the first frost.

I didn't want to scrape the ice off the car window.
I just wanted to sit here...
(Country Homes and Interiors)
' Or let Autumn fall on me
Where afield i linger,
Silencing the bird on tree,
Biting the blue finger.
White as meal the frosty field-
warm the fireside haven-
Not to Autumn will I yield,
Not to Winter even!
R. L. Stevenson.

It is going to be minus 3 tonight.... Boots, coats, scarfs and gloves at the ready.

Heading South...

Not for the Winter..... just for ten days! heading to the sunshine for a late summer break.

In the meantime....

Welcome in the Autumn

Gather up the leaves

Light a welcoming lantern

Get ready for the smell of Pumpkin Spice

Gather in the harvest

Let's get cosy

Back on October 5th, I'll be ready for a bit of Autumn decorating.

Sweet September

It's the start of the new school year.

It's a posy of pencils.

It's a sunflower in full bloom.

It's a harvest celebration.

It's an orange paper lantern.
It's sweet September.
'Best I love Septembers yellow,
morns of dew, strung gossamer;
Thoughtful days without a stir;
Rooky clamours, brazen leaves,
Stubble dotted o'er with sheaves-
More than Springs bright uncontrol
Suit the Autumn of my soul.'
Alex Smith.
September Feast Day - 29th = St Micheal or Michaelmas Day, here in the market town we have a Michaelmas Fayre on the nearest Saturday to the 29th.
Have a great September weekend.
